STATUS: FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE JUNE 2025)

Reporting to Facilities Management, Engineering Services Supervisor provides leadership, management skills, and technical knowledge to support functional, safe and reliable healthcare facilities that promote the well-being of patients and staff throughout Brightshores Health System. The incumbent will work within a team environment to develop and maintain plant and utility operations, 24 Hour Emergency on-call service, customer work request system, planned maintenance program, service contract administration, technical training, safety programs, grounds, heliport, and parking support.

Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:

Required:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or College diploma in Building Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Power Engineering, or approved equivalent education and experience
  • Relevant supervisory and/or project management/team lead experience in a unionized hospital setting
  • 5 years plant operation and maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of complex hospital building systems, codes and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage in-house trades staff and external contractors, consultants, inspectors and suppliers; in providing service in a challenging acute care hospital environment
  • Excellent computer skills in the following applications: MS Office, Computerized Maintenance Management System, and Building Automation System
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, staff development and team leadership skills
  • Effective trouble shooting, problem-solving, decision-making and organizational skills
  • A strong customer service orientation
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
  • Available for regular assignment of on-call responsibilities as required
  • Possession of a valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and personal vehicle
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
