STATUS: FULL-TIME, COMPOSITE POSITION
WAGE RATE: $39.07 – $56.00
Reporting to the Manager, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to patients in order to attain or maintain optimal function.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
Required:
- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility
- Med/Surg experience
- Two years recent Emergency experience
- Venipuncture to initiate an IV
- IV medications below the drip chamber
- Central Line Care
- ECG Interpretation
- Current certification in: (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- ACLS
- PALS
- BCLS
- eCTAS
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision required
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing population and patient needs
- Willingness to escort patients via ambulance services when required
- Willingness to flex time to meet unit, staff and patient needs
- Willingness to work in a team environment and contribute to continuous quality improvement
- Ability to work all shifts
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
- Basic computer knowledge
- Participation in staff meetings and unit specific projects
- Recent satisfactory attendance and performance
