STATUS: PART-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE JANUARY 2026)
WAGE RATE: $39.07 – $56.00
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to patients in order to attain or maintain optimal function.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
Required:
- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario registration or eligibility
- Physical Assessment course
- BCLS
- ACLS and Code Blue
- Recent Medicine/Surgical/Critical Care Experience
- Venipunctures to establish an IV required
- IV medications below the drip chamber required
- Central line care – including tubing, dressing change, line removal and blood sampling
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision required
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing population and patient needs required
- Ability to escort patients via ambulance services when required
- Complete Unit specific certification
- Demonstrated leadership problem solving, decision making, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated interviewing and patient assessment skills
- Demonstrated interest and experience in patient education and health promotion
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records

Preferred
- Baccalaureate Degree in nursing
- Palliative Care experience
- CCU I
