Through collaboration with community partners, lab services will now be available five days a week in Lion’s Head. Effective July 2, 2025, patients in Lion’s Head who require same day results and specialized lab tests will continue to access lab services at the Lion’s Head Hospital. The Peninsula Family Health Team (FHT) will be expanding their clinic services by offering routine bloodwork appointments to anyone in the community with a requisition from their care provider.
Care providers will provide instructions to patients regarding their lab procedure, including which location they should book their test at based on their needs.
The following is a summary of how you can access lab services in Lion’s Head beginning on July 2, 2025.
Lion’s Head Hospital:
· Patients require a printed requisition for lab appointments and will be directed by their referring provider to book at the Hospital based on their testing needs.
· Appointments are required and can be booked by calling 519-793-3424.

Peninsula FHT:
· MOH OHIP requisitions are needed to access lab services for outpatient bloodwork. You do not need to be a patient of the FHT.
· Expanded outpatient services hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 13:30
· Appointments are required and can be booked by calling the clinics.
