STATUS: PART-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE AUGUST 2026)
WAGE RATE: $37.071 – $38.157
Reporting to the Manager of Brightshores Cancer Centre, Owen Sound Site, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) works collaboratively in an inter-disciplinary team to provide care to those patients with a stable and predictable outcome within the defined professional scope of practice as set out by the CNO and Cancer Care Ontario.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Ontario College of Nurses registration
- Ability to work to full scope of practice
- 2 years recent acute care nursing experience
- Oncology nursing experience
- Experience with administration and management of blood products, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, CVAD care and management
- Ability to perform phlebotomy
- De Souza Institute education including; Oncology Foundations, and Psychosocial oncology courses or willingness to obtain within 1 year
- Excellent organizational and patient assessment skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
- Participation in quality improvement initiatives on the unit
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
