WAGE RATE: $35.42 – $45.13

Reporting to the Manager, Outpatient Mental Health Services, the Social Worker will work to improve the lives of older adults with responsive behaviours due to dementia, mental health and addictions issues and other neurological disorders and either living in Long Term Care homes or in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

BSW:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)

MHC-B:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related health or Social Service field
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)

Both:

  • 3 years of experience working with older adults
  • Must be able to analyze complex situations, function independently and utilize supervision as required.
  • Excellent assessment and treatment skills utilizing modalities of intensive case management, individual, family and group therapies, and the understanding of community-based resources
  • Analytical and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle and respect confidential information with tact and diplomacy are essential.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of clients and their families.
  • Knowledge of DSM-V
  • Ability to work confidently and effectively independently
  • Completion and regular updates of the Non Violent Crisis Intervention Program
  • Current PIECES
  • Current GPA certification
  • Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s license and access to reliable transportation – traveling may be required
  • Able to work all shifts, 24/7 (days, nights, evenings and weekends)
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
