Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinic Staff

In partnership with Hamilton Health Sciences-McMaster Children’s Hospital, ASD Diagnostic Hub, and Thames Valley Children’s Centre (TVCC), Brightshores offers an ASD diagnostic assessment clinic once a month.

This clinic is targeted to pre-school aged children.  A multidisciplinary team meets with the family member and child to complete this assessment.  Once completed, the Paediatrician and Social Worker then connects the family with appropriate resources for ongoing treatment and support.

Our clinic continues to operate during the COVID pandemic, adhering to all necessary infection control measures to keep our patients and family member and our clinical team safe.  Many parts of the assessment are now down “virtually” and our team works with families to find the best option for the child’s assessment.

Referral to this clinic is triaged through McMaster Children’s Hospital, and the referral form can be accessed on their website:  https://www.hamiltonhealthsciences.ca/mcmaster-childrens-hospital/areas-of-care/developmental-pediatrics-and-rehabilitation/asd-diagnostic-hub/.  A physician’s referral is required.

McMaster Children’s Hospital can connect families of school age children with the nearest assessment clinic for this aged group.
