Barrier Free Access Locations
Barrier Free Access LocationsEach Brightshores hospital has a barrier free access to allow you access to the Emergency departments and the Main Entrances. (except for Markdale – enter through ER for wheelchair access.)

Elevators are available in each hospital to allow you access to each level of the hospital.

Accessible Parking spaces are available in all parking areas at each hospital including the Emergency department and Main Entrances.

Low Vision Services
Low Vision ServicesBrightshores works with partners such as CNIB to access healthcare information for those with low vision. We can also print information for you in large font if required. Please let your care team know if you require this type of assistance. Service animals are permitted inside of all Brightshores hospitals.

Hearing Services
TTY/TDDHearing Services
Telecommunication services for patient with barriers to hearing can be requested. Please let your care team know if you require these services so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Translation
A translation service for patients with barriers to hearing can be requested. Interpreters from the Canadian Hearing Society can be arranged to assist you with medical care. Please let your care team know if you require these services so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Printed Information
If you or someone you are caring for received printed patient information from one of our hospitals, and you need it in another format, please contact Patient Relations: 519-372-3920 ext. 2308 patientrelations@gbhs.on.ca

Likewise, if there is information on this website that you require in another format, we can work with you to facilitate your request.

Other Service Needs
Please contact us prior to coming to the hospital so that we can address specific needs you may have. You can also discuss your needs with a member of your healthcare team.

Personal Accessibility Equipment
You may bring your own personal accessibility equipment (e.g. wheelchairs, walkers) when you come to any Brightshores hospital. We ask you to be responsible for any items brought into our facilities. Please note that any electrical equipment will need to be checked by our engineering staff.
