WAGE RATE: $43.37 – $56.22

Reporting to the Manager of Crisis Mental Health Services, MHC-Masters/MSW will implement services meeting the needs of individuals with mental health and addiction illnesses utilizing Recovery Principles.  The candidate must be able to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team working collaboratively with multiple services.  This position may require travel within the counties of Grey and Bruce.  The main responsibility is to the work of the Crisis Intervention Team with the understanding the candidate may be deployed to support other Mental Health Teams within the department, as required. Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

Required:

MSW:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work and membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)

MHC-M:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related health or Social Science Field
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)

Both:

  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in the community and/or hospital setting working with individuals with significant mental health needs
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience providing mental health training, education, and support to staff and the community
  • Demonstrated excellence in completing crisis assessments and risk assessments for individuals in mental health crisis
  • Ability to respond and prioritize multiple departmental requests to provide quality client centered care
  • Ability to problem solve and make effective decisions in a fast paced, stressful emergent environment
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, DSM-V, Health Care and Consent Act, Substitute Decision Makers Act, and Child and Family Services Act
  • Training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Training and experience in Single Session Therapy
  • Training and experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy
  • Knowledge and appreciation of Recovery Principles
  • Knowledge of side effects of medication and strategies to cope with those side effects
  • P.I. training up to date
  • P.R. – basic certification
  • Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s license and access to reliable transportation – traveling may be required
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team setting
  • Able to work all shifts, 24/7, including weekends, and ability for multi-site coverage if required
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
