WAGE RATE: $39.07 – $56.00
Reporting to the Manager, the registered nurse focuses on the promotion of health and the assessment of the provision of care of and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic means to critical ill adults and occasionally children, during the critical phase of their illness in order that the client may return to, attain, or maintain optimal function.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
Required
- Ontario College of Nurses registration
- Current BCLS
- ACLS
- Current PALS or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
- Post Anesthesia Course or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
- Critical Care Certificate or willingness to obtain within two years of hire
- Demonstrates an ability to think critically and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Excellent communication, customer service and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
- Excellent leadership, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
- Ongoing participation with College of Nurses Reflective Practice
- Willingness to routinely participate in staff meetings and unit specific projects
- Completion of all unit specific certifications and Delegated Medical Acts or willingness to do so within allotted time frame
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records

Preferred
- Recent critical care experience within the last 3 years
- Coronary Care Certificate
