Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is pleased to welcome Brightshores Health System to our MEALsource nutrition procurement program. Brightshores is one of hundreds of public sector organizations across the country benefiting from MMC’s not-for-profit, shared services model.

Brightshores has been an MMC Member since 2020, leveraging our sourcing solutions for medical and surgical supplies and capital equipment. Extending our collaboration to include nutrition is a natural next step in our efforts to enhance the health care supply chain in Southwestern Ontario.

“We’re very pleased to expand our relationship with Brightshores through our nutrition program,” said Tony DiEmanuele, MMC’s President and CEO. “MEALsource fosters opportunities for local farmers to participate in the health care nutrition procurement process. Our partnership with Brightshores means their patients will have access to the significant nutritional benefits of locally sourced food.”

Drawing on more than five decades of health care nutrition procurement experience, MMC’s MEALsource program allows Members to easily customize their nutrition offerings to meet the individual needs of their patients and facilities. Members participate fully in the product selection process, and MEALsource’s aggregated volume pricing helps hospitals maximize value for their specific nutritional requirements.

“We’re pleased to work with MMC to ensure our patients’ health needs are supported with quality nutrition,” said Jesse Dixon, Director or Support Services at Brightshores. “Being a member of MEALsource gives Brightshores access to a diverse array of nutritional options that benefit both patient health and local food providers. It’s an outstanding solution for our needs.”
